Position Overview:

This position will be to back up the PLS Auto, Inc. Service Manager for days off and heavy traffic days. The Assistant Service Manager should be able to work all functions of the dealership service operation on an as needed basis to help the Service Manager control operations, fill missing associates positions. The ASM will step in so the DM can be off work for sick days, vacations and other business that takes him/her out of the store for any period of time.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist Service Manager with his/her daily duties as needed
• Fill in for other associates including: Detailer, Porter, Technician or Parts Specialist
• Answer phones for Service Department issues
• Work with vendors and suppliers as necessary to assist Service Manager and other Service personnel with their duties
• Help Service customers with their issues and determine proper action to solve the problem
• Responsible for Service department in the absence of the Service Manager
• Uses DMS to effectively track repair cost allocation, warranty claims filing, reconditioning expenses, customer billable or dealership policy charges.
• Special tasks as assigned by the Service Manager or Dealership Manager

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Have experience in vehicle repair including personnel management and customer service
• Understand computer basics and Microsoft applications
• Able to perform multiple functions simultaneously across different departments
• Able to work long hours on some days, work on Saturdays when necessary (5 day work week)
• Energetic, Friendly
• Able to work effectively with vendors
• Previous automobile dealership primarily dealing in used vehicles or rent to own experience a plus
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work outdoors in all-weather when necessary
• Able to stand or sit for long periods on some days
• Able to stoop, kneel or be bent over for long periods as needed to work on, around vehicles
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds (boxes or vehicle parts)
