This position is for an entry-level Associate, Project & Component Engineering for the development, fabrication and test of rocket engine hardware (system interconnects, combustion devices, valves/actuators or rotating machinery hardware). This position will be located in Los Angeles, CA. This site operates on a 9/80 work schedule.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
Under close supervision, the Associate Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts and practices.

25% - Development and fabrication support of rocket engine components. Translates engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.

25% - Supplier integration with external vendors ensuing requirements are achieved on-time and within budget.

20% - Interface with other members of project or program teams, management and technical staff to provide coordination of technical, schedule and cost solutions to team objectives.

20% - Analyze and verify product design and performance for adequacy and reliability. Support investigation and resolution of hardware and process anomalies and issues identified by preventative action/corrective action boards or safety initiative activities.

10% - Develop specifications, trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component-level test plans.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with liquid rocket propulsion systems desired. Experience working in an equivalent engineering design/development environment is desired.

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:: 60,500 - 84,500 per year Note about pay range:: Pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
