Job Description:

The Associate Flight Operations Crew Initiatives Consultant invest s in the future of Southwest’s People through the ir support of various projects and initiatives to improve the Pilot experience as well as department operations . This role also collaborates with Base Coordinators, Chief Pilots, and other Flight Operations Leaders to ensure these projects and initiatives align with various workgroups and t he Company’s strategic plan. The Associate Flight Operations Crew Initiatives Consultant is an organized, innovative thinker who is excited to develop creative solutions that drive the future of Flight Operations at Southwest .

Responsibilities
Analyzes sentiment and data to proactively identify areas of opportunity
Partners with System Chief Pilot and HDQ Chief Pilot to establish priorities for Crew Initiatives
Collects best practices and trends across the industry and the operation and brings those suggestions back to the System Chief Pilot and HDQ Chief Pilot
Collaborates with Inflight and other Operational Groups to promote alignment
Effectively partners with Chief Pilots and Base Coordinators to ensure their feedback is captured and their inputs are incorporated throughout the process
Leads projects as assigned through to completion, building in appropriate feedback mechanisms, and formal reviews throughout
Documents all processes and decisions related to the project for knowledge transfer
Partners with Flight Ops Communication to roll out new projects/initiatives
Supports ongoing updates/adjustments to project/initiatives to improve as needed
Mitigates contractual/regulatory/operational impacts of enterprise-wide initiatives to Flight Ops
Improves processes and provides standardization in order to reduce rework and gain efficiencies
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Intermediate-level knowledge of Pilot base operations, including roles, services provided, staffing needs, standard operating procedures, technology tools, and Chief Pilot/Base Coordinator preferences
Intermediate-level knowledge of the role of Southwest Pilots, including procedures, work rules, requirements, and preferences
Skilled in written communication and presentations
Skilled in project management
Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight
Ability to gather information and synthesizing recommendation from various sources, determining a recommended course of action, and then communicating a plan around that
Ability to identify opportunities to create value and generate action plans around those opportunities
Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with enterprise partners to share best practices and gather information
Ability to think critically and strategically, and take downstream and end-user impacts into account when making decisions Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
Pilot base operations, processes, and tools
Project management, professional services/consulting, planning, or related capacity that requires leading cross-functional efforts or projects
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age (If the job has a different minimum age requirement, change 18 to applicable age)
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information
Air travel with occasional overnight stays required
