In this role you will be responsible for our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) data management in support of product design and sampling. As PMI migrates to Centric PLM, we’re starting fresh from a data management perspective, so this role includes gathering, inputting, and maintaining product and product design data within Centric PLM as well as pulling and fact checking data from various other sources and databases. In alignment with our Product, Development, and Creative teams, project timelines and seasonal trend briefs, you will manage all the data deliverables for all SMU (Special Make Up) programs within our Specialty Coffee business. This is an important new role on our team, and we look forward to your contributions as we embrace new ways of working with PLM while continuing to deliver top quality and innovative product and product designs that delight consumers and drive our Specialty Coffee business success.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining seasonal product, master color and treatment data and BOMs (Bill of Materials) within PLM to support the creation of global and localized product assortments and product sampling.
  • SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Centric PLM, deep understanding of the PLM tool’s ability to work within, manage and create master data and BOM’s easily and with accuracy.
  • Act as a liaison between the Product and Creative teams, NPD (New Product Development) team, and R&D team on CMF (Color, Material and Finish), coordinating data, reference sample images, BOMs, and specs within PLM to ensure accuracy and accessibility for product design.
  • Responsible for meeting and tracking timelines in PLM, Smartsheet, Excel, Google Docs and status meetings.
  • Responsible for data accuracy as innovations are developed and evolve. Ensuring that product management and creative contributors have awareness and live time system accessibility to PMI capabilities.
  • Maintain master data and archive of all products and product related assets.
  • Train and support new team members as they acclimate to the PLM Centric tool and workflow, and ongoing user training for the team.
  • Utilize trend and line plans to curate and customize BOMs and master data collections within PLM to support the product design development.
  • Demonstrate expert ability to recall and identify relevant CMF development and product assets and historic styles based on seasonal trend, line plans and color. Recommend and archive color tint and saturation best practices.
  • Track designs across multiple programs to provide newness and innovations are available and publicized across teams for use in new opportunities globally.
  • Ensure specs and execution learnings in color and treatment are updated and improved within in the PLM tool based on actual sample reviews and product iterations.
  • Manage PLM deadlines across multiple simultaneous and fast track projects, each with their own unique duration constraints and varying level of detail.
  • Seek out opportunities to work in advance of project and program kick- offs to meet deadlines and PLM data is delivered to support business timing.
  • Support Technical Product Management Sampling team in submitting factory sample requests to explore ideas and contribute to seasonal assortment sampling as a member of the Technical Product Management Sampling team.
  • Partner cross functionally to ensure PLM deadlines are included in all relevant workback calendars, software, and systems. Utilize historic timelines and implement learnings for continuous improvement of your work.

Proficiencies:

  • Centric PLM experience required, specifically in building BOMs, master data and factory sample requests.
  • Strong interest in consumer products, visual merchandising, and graphic and finish applications on products.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical ability with active listening skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing and in person.
  • Has a proven track record of effectively communicating with business teams and customers.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
  • Prior experience working directly with product management, sales, and graphics departments.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels – including international teams.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Patient and positive attitude a must; neatness and punctuality important.
  • Ability to continuously learn and apply new information.
  • Teamwork spirit.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile, Smartsheet, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, is a plus but not required.
  • Oracle Agile experience preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year degree required
  • 2-3 years of experience in the consumer goods industry or project management preferred
