Delta Airlines has mature, state-of-the-art Revenue Management system. Product Manufacturing, which encompasses Inventory and Pricing, is a core contributor to Deltas revenue premiums. At its core it helps decide What products should be made available for sale? How many seats? At what price? We support numerous markets, fares, and path products forecasted daily. This includes sourcing data for advanced analytics by Operations Research as well as providing Revenue Integrity tools to prevent revenue loss & abuse.
As part of the Inventory Management team candidate will help support, modernize, and innovate the next generation of IM suite of products.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Translate Product Owner / Product Manager visions into meaningful Epics and Stories so that the scrum team can incrementally deliver.
- Provides quantitative expertise (data analysis, statistics, forecasting, simulation, and optimization)
- Work on a variety of high-visibility IT projects, either in the form of internal development or in conjunction with external vendors.
- Manage risks, issues, and develop remediation plans.
- Analyze numbers, trends, and data to drive new strategies and streamline & automate processes.
- Ability to formally report on findings in a concise, understandable way.
- Responsible for providing line of sight to data quality and gaps where issues need to be addressed.
- Assist with managing team delivery commitments and helping to remove enterprise and escalated impediments.
- Manage several concurrent projects of varying priority and complexity, across multiple teams and multiple business divisions.
- Assist Product Owner with prioritizing stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Assist Product Owner with backlog management, iteration planning, and grooming of the user stories
- Measure and communicate product business value and ROI
- Willingness and aptitude to identify technical requirements and translate to adequate technical stories (eg: API creation, integrations, code refactoring, etc).
- Make things happen without frequent management direction and know when to communicate status or escalate issues to their manager, teammates or stakeholders.
- Enjoy working in a high-profile environment with fluid priorities, ambiguity and extremely aggressive deadlines.
- Drive root cause analysis of production issues and identify resolution and preventative steps. Actively influence the automated testing efforts to achieve 80% = automated coverage
- Encouraging self-organization and a cohesive scrum team; sheltering the team from outside distractions to keep focus mainly on the agreed sprint goals.
- You will work closely with delivery teams, release management, business partners, and other parts of the organization including senior-level leadership to ensure effective software delivery based upon defined agile values & principles.
- Domain Expert for agile methodologies and practices and guides team on Delta Agile practices.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

- Extensive experience defining agile requirements (Epics/stories), including functional and technical in a product/services organization
- Understanding and usage of agile metrics (velocity, burn downs) to help the team be more productive
- Experience with root cause analysis and digging into different sources of information (transaction details, logging, customer data, etc) to understand issue causes and identifying preventative steps and resolutions.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to partner with business stakeholders to prioritize backlog as necessary
- Creative thinker paired with great attention to detail
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to apply formal agile techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.
- Experience with relevant Agile tools for handling work (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Version One, Rally etc.) and understanding and believe that tools are enablers to agile whilst also using information radiators
- Experienced in guiding technical teams on agile concepts, principles, frameworks, practices and methodologies
- Significant experience facilitating agile meetings and ceremonies involving the customer and key partners, from initial backlog creation through successful release
- Familiarity and experience with agile engineering practices like Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), DevOps, etc.
- Clear and concise interpersonal skills, the ability to work across the organization, excellent synthesizing and organization skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to participate in a team environment are key to this position.
- Certified in one or more of the following: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP), SAFe 4.5 or other related agile certifications from a reputable organization.
- Must be results oriented and capable of meeting or exceeding aggressive deadlines with attention to detail and highest quality results
