Department Summary
UNT at Frisco is a branch of the University of North Texas located in Frisco, TX with the purpose of supporting the exponential population growth projected in Collin County and the greater North Texas region. UNT at Frisco is the second home to 42+ academic departments from 7 different academic colleges at UNT that provide courses to support undergraduate and graduate student progression to graduation in the 16 undergraduate and 10 graduate degree programs offered in Frisco.
New College is a multidisciplinary department with a highly collaborative and collegial culture housed at the UNT at Frisco campus. We are a leader in project-based education, providing students unique opportunities to learn through collaboration with industry partners and other UNT academic units. New College offers classes and serves students on both the Denton and Frisco campuses and online.

Ensuring everything runs smoothly in the department by overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring operations are run efficiently. This leader will provide solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department to support growth.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and four years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Job Duties
o
Event Management: Leads execution of approximately 100 events per academic year. Supervises personnel, contractors, and volunteers, including negotiating contracts, interviewing applicants, training, monitoring work tasks, coaching, evaluating work performance, and scheduling staff. Implements events, and contracts and maintains proper UNT policy and procedures. Manages the development of new and existing events and activities, timelines, vendors, and volunteers; and provides on-site support including, but not limited to, set-up and take-down, safety, and communications. Serves as a formal resource for internal and external constituents regarding UNT standards and best practices as part of the department. Researches options and costs, makes recommendations for new events, and suggests varied arrangements and locations for events; manages the execution of various events, including dinners, parties, and luncheons. Consults with internal and external facilities staff regarding all aspects of the event presentation, including room arrangement, menus, service scheduling, equipment, parking, and transportation, as appropriate to each event. Maintains a safe environment for staff and visitors by following organizational policies and health and safety regulations; and is accountable for providing a safe work environment and eliminating accidents.

Deputy for the Director of Operations: Leads the primary day-to-day operations for UNT at Frisco, ensuring organizational operations execution. Activities include supervising the work and capacity of operational staff members, planning resources and workloads across operational projects, negotiating and liaising with third-party service providers, opening the building for students, faculty, staff, administrators, industry partners, and/or government officials, preparing and carrying out emergency protocols and procedures, inspecting classrooms to ensure cleanliness, room configuration, the functionality of blinds & room scheduling panels, monitoring and regulating the usage of study spaces and conference rooms, walking the building and oversee work orders are submitted for issues or repairs, managing inquiries and requests by building tenants and resolve any problems or issues, maintain a safe environment for building occupants and visitors, conduct regular building inspections and prepare reports, ensuring facilities are in compliance with applicable policies, regulations, building codes, and AED & fire extinguisher inspections.
This position also leads personnel and activities related to first response to floods, damaged lines, outages, and disasters on an emergency basis. Leads the management and security of FOB access, tracking all keys, fobs, and parking pass. Maintains policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Accountable for translating the departmental strategy to information risk management operational objectives, including systems and processes. Provides direction and leadership to those performing construction and maintenance at UNT Frisco Landing. Facilitates leadership team strategic planning processes and meetings. Leads in creating a culture of engagement aligned with UNT values through building strong working relationships, including managing the needs of visiting faculty and administrators. Assists Police Department with any building security issues. Assess, manages, and mitigate risks. Leads special projects and assignments as directed.

Procurement Management: Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers. Maintains records of goods ordered and received. Builds and maintains relationships with vendors. Determines quantity and timing of deliveries; monitors and forecast upcoming demand levels.

Travel Management: Manage travel arrangements for faculty, staff, and administrators, including scheduling flights, grounds transportation, booking accommodations, and other trip-related tasks. Serve as a general resource and point of contact for travel-related issues and assist employees with travel-related problems or concerns. Act to ensure safe and efficient travel operations per organizational UNT policies and guidelines. Receive and respond to incoming travel requests from faculty, staff, and administrators.
