John Marshall Media is the world's largest independent producer of audiobooks and audio for the Educational Publishing Industry. We are hiring digital audio editors with bachelor's degrees to fill our ever-increasing workload.

We're looking for college educated audio technicians to do quality control and digital editing on our audiobooks and other productions. You must have experience editing spoken word audio. This is a remote position, and you are expected to report to a supervisor via phone, e-mail and Microsoft Teams, and to have reasonably fast internet. We hope to find several excellent candidates that will work with us for years to come.

The Work:

You will edit and quality check (QC) audiobooks using the DAW Reaper. Projects will be given to you based on your availability. For editing, you will listen to recordings in Reaper and follow along with an annotated script to edit out bad takes, remove noises, and correct poor pacing as necessary. For QC, you will listen to recordings while noting discrepancies between the script and the audio, noting noises, plosives, level problems and other things that would distract the end consumer. Besides editing and QC, you will also be helping to sort through QC notes, prep pickup packages, insert pickups, among other various tasks that keep the job from getting monotonous.

This is a freelance/as needed position. You'll let us know your availability and we'll assign projects to you based on this availability. However, please note that we're looking for applicants that are available for at least 10 or more hours per week. Two or three consecutive days of availability each week is preferred, but the hours are flexible. And we hope to create a long-term relationship.

• Step 3: Audio Editing Evaluation: For applicants who have made it through the interviews, we will do a brief editing test in which we observe you editing a small segment of audio via Zoom.
