Carlson Environmental Consultants (CEC) is seeking a Auto, Diesel & Small Engine Mechanic to join our growing Mechanics team in our corporate office located in Monroe, NC.

This position requires a minimum of two years of experience and a solid understanding of factory service repair procedures. We are looking for an individual who is committed to completing projects on schedule and is capable of keeping staff informed throughout the repair process. Our current fleet is 175 trucks and 25 trailers.

Job Description

• Be responsible for the overall well-being of our Fleet which includes GMC and Tacoma trucks, UTVs and trailers
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules for trucks and equipment
• Run diagnostics and repair small engines and related mechanical or structural parts for a variety of equipment types and clearly explain the diagnosis and repair needed.
• Facilitate truck upgrades (lift kits, lights, tires, skid plates)
• Perform transmission repairs ranging from minor to major
• Trailer repairs
• UTV repairs
• small equipment repair such as generators
• Light Welding
• Light electrical work
• Inspect, maintain and clean all equipment and report faulty equipment or hazards to manager
• Drive company vehicle to pick up and drop off parts at vendor locations
• Coordinate with other in-house mechanics at additional CEC locations
• Travel to jobs sites throughout the East Coast may be required from time to time
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Have reliable transportation to get to work

Candidates must possess

• 2+ years’ experience as a Certified Mechanic
• Clean driving record. Current CDL License a PLUS but not required
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and be a team player with the willingness to assist others when needed
• Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible with last minute changes, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen, background check and motor vehicle check.

Salary is Commensurate with Experience

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
