JOB SUMMARY:
The Automation Designer/Technician will be a key player in the design and integration of custom tooling and automated production systems for multiple manufacturing processes.
Education: High School Diploma
Related Experience: 2 years
Supervision Given: None
Supervision Received: Project Manager
Essential Specific Job Duties:
1. Fabricates and builds specific jigs and fixtures for production teams as directed to improve manufacturing processes.
2. Contributes in designing pneumatic and electric clamping, locating, and work holding systems used in multiple manufacturing processes.
3. Integrates system designs into fixtures and other automated solutions.
4. Robotic programming experience preferred, but not required.
5. General systems programming at equipment commissioning stage.
6. Allen Bradley, Fanuc, or Seimens controls experience is preferred.
7. Keeps safety and ergonomics as highest priority while building equipment or changing a process.
8. Maintains a positive approach when working with other departments and promotes the success of the project and participants during multiple coordinated projects.
9. Maintains outstanding blueprint reading abilities so that Engineering and the Fixture Designer/Builder can communicate the design and function intent of the product.
10. Maintain the ability to operate all measuring devices, power tools, hand tools, some light equipment, and specialized equipment as it relates to the project.
11. Works a flexible schedule as needed to accommodate the project deadlines or operational dates in order to have minimal impact on the production teams. (early starts, nights, weekends)
12. Maintains extremely good attention to detail for the accuracy and success of physical equipment builds, and overall projects.

17. Maintains working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
