We are searching for a talented Automation Engineer to join our Engineering team. The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, testing and commissioning automation and control systems. This position can either be based full time in our San Antonio office, or can be remote with a requirement of travel to either Austin, Tx or Midland, Tx 1 day per week.

Essential Duties include the following:

• Provides project lifecycle expertise for Control and Automation projects within the oil and gas, manufacturing, water and wastewater, manufacturing, and supply chain industries
• Engineering, Design and implementing automation solutions per customer functional requirements, safety expectations, quality expectations, cost parameters and internal specifications and standards
• Develop plant and facility control and automation solution based on P&IDs, PFDs, Cause and Effect (C&E) and Control Narrative.
• Drives and provides overall support to the Engineering team to assure the following project milestones are met within the stipulated deadline: System Design and Procurement, Programming and Configuration, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and Commissioning
• Monitor adherence to project schedule and budgets throughout project execution and report progress and status of all aspects to Project Manager.
• Facilitate internal and client meetings to review and update project status.
• Plans and implements Factory Acceptance tests (FAT) with customers, including required documentation
• Plans and implements field commissioning activities with customers, I&E technicians and support team as part of Site Acceptance tests (SAT) with required documentation
• Integrate with SCADA database systems and other business intelligence systems for custom reporting and data analytics.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum Two Year Associates Degree in Automation Technology or Mechatronics or Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year University to include Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Oil and Gas, Water and Wastewater or Manufacturing working with Industrial Control and Automation Projects
• PLC experience to include ladder logic programming and other IEC 61131-3 languages such as Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Emerson ROC, ABB, etc.
• Experience with programming HMIs such as PanelView, Red Lion, Maple Systems, etc.
• General SCADA Programming experience to include Ignition, AVEVA System Platform, CygNet, or equivalent
• Broad understanding of all components involved in automation systems from field devices to control room to enterprise level
• Ability to read Panel drawings and instrumentation and electrical drawing packages
• Microsoft Office experience required
• Onshore Oil and Gas experience; Upstream in a multi-well facility and CPF environment setting, Midstream in a pipeline and plants setting, or a Water and Wastewater Facility or Manufacturing Plant floor

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
