A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

As an Automotive Mechanic, you repair used cars and ensure we maintain a well-stocked inventory for our customers. Every day brings something new, and you are eager to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. You put your problem-solving skills to the test as you inspect our used vehicles and diagnose any mechanical or electrical issues. After identifying a car's current or future problems, you then get to work making repairs and replacing parts as needed.

You also perform routine maintenance, such as replenishing fluids, checking tire pressure, changing out car batteries, working well with the Dealership Lot Tech, Body Shop Tech and communicating with the whole team. You keep thorough logs of the work to be done and work completed. No matter the make or model of the car, you deftly perform the work needed to get it running smoothly. You enjoy working with your hands all day and take pride in getting our vehicles ready to sell!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

• Minimum of 3 years Auto repair experience required
• Knowledge about the mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
• Working knowledge about vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to perform the physical duties required for this position
• Valid driver's license
• Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications are preferred but not required
• Minimum high school diploma would be preferred. Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship would be a plus!
• Work authorization is also required

WORK SCHEDULE FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

This position typically works Monday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Will discuss a set work schedule at the interview.
