About the Role
Looking for an engineering leader to take on the following responsibilities:
- Reading, writing, and reviewing application code, with a focus on writing maintainable code that is easy to understand
- Collaborating with product teams to define and implement new features
- Communicating persuasively with peers to inspire cooperation
- Making well-reasoned decisions that inspire and energize others
- Documenting the systems you help build
- Building scalable and secure systems that follow operational best practices
- Building observable systems that we can learn from and we can continuously improve
- Working with support to triage and debug support requests
Must Haves
- 5+ years of strong proficiency and backend software development experience
- Experience working with Python, Flask, SqlAlchemy, BigQuery, Terraform, GCP, GKE (Kubernetes), Docker, Building CI/CD (Github Actions), and/or API Design (REST)
- Curiosity and a hacker's mindset. Someone who likes to play with a diverse set of technologies and get things working "well enough" quickly. They work in Salesforce, Shopify, Looker, Python, React, etc., so there are a ton of new integrations they're building all the time.
- Fluency and a point of view on testing frameworks
- Experience working on a monolithic codebase
- Good hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools
- Strong experience with production system monitoring & observability
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment
- Passionate about healthy team culture and collaboration
