Banquet Cook Job at Memorytown USA
Here at Memorytown, we host a variety of weddings and special events throughout the year and need a passionate Banquet Cook to join our team.
The new banquet cook will train with our executive chef to learn how to prepare each menu item quickly and efficiently. You will be responsible for helping cook, stock and set up the kitchen stations, prepare and plate food under the guidance of our head chef.
If you are someone who has the ability to work on your feet for most of the day, has reliable transportation and has great time management skills, willing to learn and grow in a face paced environment, apply today and join our team.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Diploma is optional with 1 year work experience
