Supervisor’s Title: Food and Beverage Manager

Exempt Status: Hourly/Nonexempt
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing and delivering Guests’ alcoholic beverage, non‐alcoholic beverage, and food orders and maintaining a clean and orderly bar environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Guest/Food Service
- Serve bar, restaurant, and room service Guests and bus tables when necessary.
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serve wine and beer. Serve food from restaurant when necessary.
- Maintain complete knowledge of menu.
- Handle Guests’ special requests.
- Accurately complete Guests’ orders and collect payments. Balance cash and credit card receipts daily.
- Adhere to food handling guidelines at all times.
Cleaning
- Clean and wash bar ware, utensils, and bar area. Restock bar items as needed.
- Assist with quality and presentation issues, cleanliness and organization of bar, kitchen, and restaurant when necessary.
- Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the bar, kitchen, or restaurant area.
Miscellaneous
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with
Guests, clients, co‐workers, and management.
- Comply with all tipping laws and company requirements.
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving of all Food and Beverage items as directed.
- Adhere to proper grooming and dress codes for the department.

Job Description
- Knowledge of and ability to carry out hotel emergency procedures.
Perform all other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and/or Experience: No educational requirement. Food service experience preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, Guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills required.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food handler’s permit, alcohol server’s permit, and any training required by state or local ordinance.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Operate equipment such as, but not limited to, food service equipment, computer, cash register, and calculator. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Seeing – Must be able to see well enough to read menus and computer screen.
- Hearing – Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the phone and in person.
- Standing/Walking/Mobility – Must be able to stand and walk to serve food and beverages in restaurant and deliver to rooms.
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling – Must be able to climb four flights of stairs. Must be able to stoop and kneel to put away products.
- Lifting – Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Fingering/Grasping/Feeling – Must be able to handle glasses, dishes, etc.
