Big Bend Community College invites applications for a BEdA Program Learning Lab/Offsite Coordinator position in the college's Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) Program. This position implements the delivery of BEdA services at specific instructional sites throughout the service district. Sites include Moses Lake, Othello, Quincy, Royal City, Soap Lake, Mattawa, Warden, and Grand Coulee. Learning Lab/Offsite Coordinators are paid on quarterly contracts. The quarterly salary ranges from $2002 to $2574 depending upon the site responsibilities. This position is responsible for the new student intake process at the instructional site and provides academic support to students in a Learning Lab setting. This position coordinates student data, monitors tracking processes, maintains organized documentation, manages the equipment checkout process, and other college resources at the instructional site. The Learning Lab/Offsite Coordinator works with community partners and BBCC staff to promote BBCC services and educational offerings in the community. This position reports to the Director of BEdA Programs and is a first point of contact for students enrolling in BEdA programs. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: Coordinate and implement BEdA services and academic supports at a specific instructional site.Serve as the primary point of contact and support for students enrolled at the assigned BBCC instructional site.Collaborate with and support other BBCC staff working at the instructional site.Implement CASAS testing and any other placement activities with new students.Support the implementation of CASAS post-testing, class registration, and other end-of-quarter processes.Provide students with academic support via Face-to-Face (F2F) or Zoom during scheduled Learning Lab periods.Monitor and support students' progress toward completion and transition to college-level courses and an academic Area of Interest.Provide college navigation services including intervention when students are struggling with academics and personal issues; provide referrals to college or community services.Coordinate with relevant departments to assist with admission and registration of students, utilizing full online processes.Support data analysis and reporting for students enrolled in BEdA programs.Monitor student academic progress in CANVAS courses. Provide academic advising to students enrolled at the instructional site.Provide information for students and prospective students about program, services, and the application process, explain program criteria, purpose, and supports to prospective students.Manage the checkout of laptops to students and use of college equipment and resources at the instructional site.Assist with the production of reports and completion of required surveys.Promote BEdA and BBCC programs and services in the community of the instructional site including the dissemination of marketing materials within community and attending community events representing the college and the department. OTHER WORK RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.Ensure no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to security and safety, understanding of safety data sheets (SDS), equipment, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.Ensure compliance with college policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.Conduct self in a professional manner and ensures the interaction with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive to the college's values.Work and interact effectively with colleagues, staff. students, administrators, and others of various cultural, socio-economic, ability, and other backgrounds.Demonstrated ability, or ability to learn within 6 months of hire, to create accessible content in both electronic and print formats as appropriate to the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Education or other related degree from a regionally accredited institution. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may substitute for the degree. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, computer systems, and the ability to instruct students, lab assistants, and faculty. MOS Certification preferred.Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.Experience working with diverse populations of students or clients in an educational setting or community-based organization. ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with and/or knowledge of BEdA/WES programs.Experience serving Adult Basic Students in English Language Acquisition (ELA), High School+ (HS+), Open Doors Program (ODP) (Youth Re-engagement), and/or Workforce Development Services (WES).Previous teaching experience.Previous experience in higher education or a community college setting.Experience with student advising.Previous experience with CASAS testing.
