Wake Preparatory Academy is currently accepting applications for a Behavior Interventionist for the 2022-2023 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Conduct and completes functional behavioral assessments (FBA) when appropriate.

• Works with a team including student, parents, teachers and Administration to develop appropriate behavior intervention plan (BIP)

• Meets with students in small group settings to teach strategies related to social/emotional learning

• Continues to monitor progress on implementation of behavior plan and makes adjustments to BIP as necessary

• Responsible for training applicable faculty and Administration on implementation of behavior plan

• As applicable, works with students being monitored through MTSS (multi-tiered intervention process)

• Supports school-wide positive behavior intervention and initiatives through working directly with students and modeling positive behavior strategies for staff

• Supports students in adherence to school values (RAISE) by providing leadership opportunities

• Works to identify “at-risk” students based on classroom observations, grade reports, and teacher and Administrator input

Minimum Requirements

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• 3-5 years experience as a classroom teacher with evidence of student data as proof of effectiveness
• Trained in the Danielson Framework for Teaching (Introduction & Observation Skills)
• Trained in the Learning Focused Conversation Method
