Essential Functions:

  • Reports observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notifies the Agency Director immediately if any incidents or accidents occur.
  • Assists clients with financial matters and entitlement issues, and gives the clients the care and attention needed to enable them to learn better coping skills, independent living skills, and techniques to empower clients with recovery, a sense of responsibility, and independence.
  • Completes all program orientation and annual training requirements in accordance with agency policy and the CCS and DLS program requirements.
  • Provides direct recovery support services in accordance with required qualifications and client’s CCS/DLS service plan.
  • Provides recovery support services that promote hope, healing, empowerment, and a connection to the community.
  • Provides recovery support services in a manner that is respectful, culturally appropriate, collaborative between all providers of the recovery team, and based on client’s choice and individual goals.
  • Adheres to client’s rights as indicated by the program.
  • Attends and participate in the client’s service plan meetings as applicable.
  • Engages communication with the recovery team as needed, with consent of the client.
  • Supports the client and/or family in understanding mental health and/or substance abuse conditions.
  • Provides services under the direction of a licensed mental health or substance abuse professional (if required).
  • Ensures all supervisions are documented in the supervision log as applicable.
  • Ensures all services provided are documented timely.
  • Reports all observations of the client’s condition to CCS/DLS program and agency Executive Director as needed and following any change or incident.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable policies and procedures of the agency and programs.
  • Maintains client confidentiality per agency policy and state/federal requirements.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Education & Experience:
Training Requirements
  • To provide services as a peer specialist- must have a high school diploma/GED and have successfully completed thirty (30) hours of training during the past two years in recovery concepts, consumer rights, consumer-centered individual treatment planning, mental illness, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, psychotropic medications and side effects, functional assessment, local community resources, adult vulnerability, consumer confidentiality, a demonstrated aptitude for working with peers, and a self-identified mental disorder or substance use disorder.
  • To provide services as a rehabilitation worker- must have successfully completed at least thirty (30) hours of training during the past two years in recovery concepts, consumer rights, consumer-centered individual treatment planning, mental illness, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, psychotropic medications and side effects, functional assessment, local community resources, adult vulnerability, and consumer confidentiality.
  • To provide services as a Daily Living Skills worker-must have 3 to 6 months experience in recovery concepts, consumer rights, consumer-centered individual treatment planning, mental illness, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, psychotropic medications and side effects, functional assessment, local community resources, adult vulnerability, and consumer confidentiality.
License Requirements
  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
Skill Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet identified client's needs.
  • Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
