School-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Location: Edgewater Park, NJ
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a school in Edgewater Park, NJ. As an RBT, you will provide direct support and assistance to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other behavioral needs in an educational setting. Your role will involve implementing behavior intervention plans, conducting assessments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote student progress and success.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide one-on-one support to students with ASD or behavioral challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Collect and record data on student behaviors and progress towards goals
- Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments and analyzing data to inform intervention strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement comprehensive programs for students
- Support students during academic instruction, social interactions, and transitions
- Utilize positive behavior support strategies to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with ASD or behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational or school-based setting
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
