Edward-Elmhurst Health includes three hospitals — Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital, and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health — and an extensive ambulatory care network that provides comprehensive healthcare to residents of the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago. Linden Oaks is a community based non-for-profit facility that treats conditions such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and self-injury for adolescents and adults. We are a leading center for the treatment of substance abuse and offer services for each stage of the recovery process, including inpatient and outpatient treatment, residential (for adults) and detoxification. Our comprehensive eating disorders program is nationally known and locally preferred.

This Behavioral Health Integration Clinician (BHIC) is embedded in the Elmhurst Pain Clinic providing behavioral health services in a collaborative framework within medical care teams. Primary responsibilities include identifying patients who may benefit from behavioral health services, providing individual therapy, providing patient outreach and/or consultation to the patient at the end of their physician visit to connect patients with recommended behavioral health resources/services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:

  • Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology and clinical needs of assigned population
  • Highly effective communication is required in order to lead, teach and persuade others in very difficult situations
  • Ability to maintain information which is highly confidential
  • Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health Integration
  • Knowledge of DSM5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) diagnostic criteria, ICD10 and interquel standards

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

  • Minimum one year of experience as an LCSW, LCPC, or LCP (Licensed Clinical Psychologist)
  • Minimum two years of experience in behavioral health setting
  • Knowledge of patient rights and law pertaining to mental health
  • Knowledge of substance abuse counseling or CADC

Required License/Certificate:

  • Current State of Illinois licensure which may include LCP (Licensed Clinical Psychologist, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
  • Current State of Illinois driver’s license required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
  • CPI and CPR certification within 90 days of start into the position
