Position Title: Billing Specialist (Part-time)
Location: 100% Remote
Type: Hourly Contractor Position (15-20 hours/week)
Hours: Semi-Flex (Availability during Central Time daytime hours for scheduled meetings, flex for assignments)
B&A seeks a skilled Billing Specialist to join our Accounting Department. This individual will directly report to the Operations Manager.
Our team is 100% remote, allowing our staff flexible working hours. Qualified applicants must have daytime availability for scheduled meetings.
B&A has a 20+ year history of success as a full-service, client-focused local municipal grant writing, research, and management firm. We have been 100% virtual, remote, and work-from-home since our founding. The majority of our clients are municipal government entities. We specialize in writing regional, state, and federal grant applications and proposals. We have a proven track record winning approximately 75%+ of all proposals we prepare on behalf of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize BQE Core to prepare and send accurate invoices on a monthly basis;
- Provide consistent, professional, courteous, and high-quality customer service to both internal and external clients;
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve questions as needed;
- Maintain current and detailed records of invoicing processes;
- Collect and review contractor invoices;
- Contact clients when needed to obtain, verify, and update account information;
- Research and resolve account discrepancies;
- Verify accuracy of billing data and correct any errors;
- Keep an accurate record of client accounts and outstanding balances; and
- Generate reports and statements for internal use.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
- Minimum of two years of experience with invoicing;
- Excellent verbal, analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
- High attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy;
- Ability to analyze large sets of data;
- High degree of familiarity with invoicing functions;
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with invoicing in BQE Core (STRONGLY PREFERRED);
- Experience working remotely; and
- Experience managing strict deadlines.

- Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
