Job Description:
The laboratory coordinator position will set up all Biology teaching labs each week, and coordinate the maintenance, calibration and repairs of equipment in the teaching and research lab spaces. The Lab Coordinator will also train and supervise undergraduate work-study laboratory assistants, and assist the Biology Lab Manager in designing how labs will be set-up.
Responsibilities Include:
- Efficient and orderly preparation, adaptation and scaling of faculty designed teaching lab projects/exercises for large multi-section laboratory classes.
- Prep and break-down all multi-section laboratory classes each week including the maintenance of all prep spaces, equipment, and supplies associated with multi-section classes.
- Train and supervise undergraduate laboratory assistants each semester.
- Track and coordinate maintenance of research and teaching laboratory equipment; including annual calibration, minor repairs, and major repairs of large equipment.
- Assist the Biology Laboratory Manager in any additional tasks needed for the set-up and maintenance of Biology laboratory spaces and their safety requirements.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (preferably Biology), and additional work experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.

Working conditions are those of Biology laboratories, including all materials and equipment typically found in them.
