Burcham Hills is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the backyard of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We currently have a vacancy for a Server to work a Part-Time schedule in our StoneBriar Bistro. This schedule would consist of 5 days per week between Tuesday thru Sunday, with every other weekend off. Looking for someone who is available to work from 12:00pm to 8:00pm and who is at least 18 years old or will be within 30 days of hire. In this position, a Bistro Server will be responsible for pouring and serving alcohol, table service and ensuring residents receive meals as ordered in a timely and friendly manner, maintaining cleanliness, safety standards and in addition to but not limited to the following duties:

• Greet and welcome residents and guests upon arrival to the dining room.
• Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism and meet quality standards for our residents and their guests.
• Verify residents’ dietary needs.
• Take resident meal orders and enter them into the computer, assist with meal selection and answer questions about menu items as needed.
• Provide requested beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), and food as requested.
• Clear dishes from tables during service and assist with clean up and resetting the dining room after service.
• Ensure residents are satisfied with meal served.
• Other duties as assigned by the Bistro Manager.

Qualifications: Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train. You must be able to work independently as well as a part of a highly productive team. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English effectively to interpret and explain the menu, refer or answer questions, understand resident requests and resident dietary needs, as well as follow rules and safety requirements. Ability to operate large equipment with oral and/or written instructions in English, such as but not limited too; dish washing machine, refrigerators, freezers, steam well, etc.
