Catskill Hudson Bank is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee the operations of our Halfmoon Branch, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed and service quality standards are met. Exercises executive and administrative control over the daily functions of the office. Develops new deposit and loan business within assigned market and by calling on potential customers and maintaining a presence in the community. Ensures high quality of customer service through effective management. Manages branch profitability by minimizing operational differences and losses, generating fee income and controlling expenses.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: *

  • Develop new business, both internally and externally. Focus on expansion and retention. Cultivate a sales culture utilizing relationship banking approach. Employ proactive sales techniques. Meet branch goals as required.
  • Opens and closes the branch, maintains and stays abreast of security policies and procedures.
  • Supervises vault operations and procedures.
  • Process loan applications within lending authority.
  • Make business development calls monthly. Complete call reports as required.
  • Handle customer problems and complaints. Counsel customers with special needs or requests.
  • Manage community relations in local market by participating in service and professional groups and community events and activities.
  • Develop sales abilities of Branch Staff by encouraging internal cross sell opportunities and utilizing relationship banking approach. Follow up on sales logs and staff performances.
  • Mediate difficulties with customers by being flexible and tactful while adhering to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure branch compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
  • Manages staffing levels by hiring and retaining qualified individuals/employees. Take appropriate action when required for hiring, enforcing disciplinary action and discharging employees when applicable. Supervise and develop staff.
  • Create a team atmosphere to gain Staff contribution towards the growth of the Branch.
  • Track deposit growth and sales of Branch by reviewing applicable reports daily and monthly.
  • Manage Branch facility ensuring maintenance of Branch meets Bank standards. Promote a friendly, professional, neat Branch facility.
  • Overall responsibility for Branch operations and soundness: Duties include Monthly Branch Audits and Certifications, Overdraft decisions and monitoring; adherence to policies and procedures, adherence to internal security procedures and protocol, protect assets of the Bank ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Operate branch within approved established cash limits and guidelines and ensure that audits achieve satisfactory or above rating. Assume overall responsibility for daily proof and internal audit controls.
  • Monitor branch operations and expense levels. Minimize risk and financial losses.
  • Possess excellent knowledge of bank products and services for cross-selling purposes. Enhance and expand customer relationships.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures relating to the Banks computer system, relating to all teller operations, transactions and functions.
  • Interacts positively and communicates effectively with diverse personalities and all levels of associates throughout the organization.
  • Perform branch functions to ensure uninterrupted service to customers and daily branch operations in the absence of subordinates. Perform any branch function and/or task. Demonstrates the ability to multi task and adapt to changing circumstances in the Branch and Bank overall.
  • Exercises sound judgment when solving problems.
  • Accepts responsibility for the leadership, direction, control, planning, organizing, directing, supervising, formulation practices, or making final decisions at the branch level.
  • Demonstrates commitment to and understanding of continuous quality improvement. Uses creativity to make frequent recommendations for quality enhancements.
  • Manages time effectively.
  • Contributes to an overall team effort by being an effective team player. Contributes to the team with individual strengths and goals that meet expectations of performance in all job responsibilities.
  • Provides the highest level of customer service in a courteous, professional and enthusiastic manner. Practices high degree of professionalism. Serves as an example for subordinates.
  • Coaches, develops, encourages and rewards active participation, creativity and productivity within the Branch; following up with timely feedback.
  • Contributes to the enhancement of effective communication by meeting regularly with all Branch staff and providing clear information, guidance and ongoing training. Relay all relevant information to staff and assure that input and feedback occurs to and from staff members.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Must be able to travel independently to report to work, meetings, training sessions or to fill in at various locations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Resourceful, creative, well organized, self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • High energy level. High degree of comfort performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with managing day-to-day activities.
  • Persuasive and effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • High School Diploma. Proven branch and sales experience leading to supervisory/management experience or some comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Maintains familiarity with banking environment and industry trends.
  • Good understanding of Bank deposit operations.
  • Strong sales skills and ability.
  • Excellent customer service/customer relations skills.
  • Must have the ability to stay abreast of new technology and trends within the Banking industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
