Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a BSA/AML Quality Control and Know your Customer (KYC) Analyst. This position is a part of the Regulatory Governance of BSA /AML & OFAC Financial Intelligence Department. Must comply with the provisions of all regulations under the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering, the USA PATRIOT Act, Title III, Customer Identification Program and the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
Primary job functions are to conduct (QA) quality assurance & QC quality control reviews on BSA/KYC and business line functions to ensure BSA/AML compliance including regulatory reporting. This position also includes periodic quantitative and qualitative analysis for the CIP/KYC/CDD/EDD documentation needed across all Business Lines for customers, products, services and business lines for BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessments. Also serves as subject matter experts for customers, products, services and business lines for BSA/AML/OFAC.
- Conduct quality control audits on department workflow processes, including, but not limited to; Business Lines workflow, internal controls, regulatory reporting, CTR Exemption reviews, and CIP/KYC/CDD-EDD for completeness and accuracy. Prepare summary to management team regarding QC reviews including observations and recommendations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and conduct quality control audits of BSA/OFAC related functions of other lines of business including; Electronic Banking, Loans, Mortgage Dept. Third Party Service Providers, wire screening data mapping, CIP/CDD and Beneficial Ownership which are included in various sample reviews for documentation completion and retention
- Conduct quality control audits of OFAC processes regarding on-going screenings (new customers, periodic full customer, beneficiaries of standby letters of credit, TPPP merchants, etc.
- Assist BSA Officer and delegate with the schedule, metrics, reporting all QA/ QC reviews on a monthly basis.
- Follows all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- A liaison between the Front Line and the BSA/AML & OFAC Department in identify training opportunities based on QA & QC results
- Able to articulate and provide training to Business Lines based on QA & QC results of identified deficiency in the on boarding and documentation process
- Review of complex business formation and governance documents, ensuring adherence to CDD/EDD-Beneficial Ownership Rule
- Ensure accuracy and identify enhancements of relevant Policy and Procedures pertaining to “Know your Customer”; Customer Information Program; and CDD/EDD Beneficial Ownership Rule
- Achieve and sustain a high level of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in the firm’s response to BSA, AML and OFAC matters
- Must have knowledge of the federal requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act requirements including Customer Identification Program/USA Patriot Act and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience of banking experience, quality assurance reviews, risk/audit managements of banking products/services
Preferred knowledge of branch and/or loan operations - Preferred experience in a financial institution with asset size $10B and over.
- Prefer a participant of a BSA/AML Certification program and current certification (or in process)
- Ability to work in a regulatory compliance department and interact with internal and external auditors/examiners
- Detailed oriented and good organization skills
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills (case documentation)
- Must be able to handle confidential customer information
- Ability to work with team members effectively
- Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel. Pivot, Graphs, Metrics
- Ability to work independently, but cohesively within a team of specialized associates, with high integrity and ethics
- Highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills and ability to manage and analyze data
- Excellent written and oral formats, including presentations to regulators, auditors, analysts, senior managers
- Exceptional analytical skills, judgment, and ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Experience with case management platforms a must. Exposure to platform implementation/enhancement environment a plus
