The Building Services Assistant will work to deliver well-maintained and clean facilities, grounds, and equipment for the Sturgeon Bay Program Center. He/She will have strong general maintenance/construction knowledge, plus general plumbing, electrical, and/or HVAC experience. Certified Pool Operator license will be required upon hire; basic computer skills beneficial. Position includes the need to be physically active, including walking, bending, reaching, pushing and lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
This is a full-time position, working primarily Mon-Fri, with occasional weekends and week nights based on project needs and on-call status.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping functions with limited supervision, while maintaining high level of cleanliness and maintenance both inside/outside of center. Time will be split approximately 80% maintenance and 20% cleaning.
2. Working with the Director of Building Services and staff develop a preventive maintenance schedule for inspection, cleaning, and repair of Lifestyle/Free Weights aerobic and weight bearing equipment.
3. Know and follow safety guidelines related to working with chemicals and equipment while complying with safety regulations and codes (OSHA).
4. Communicate with supervisor regarding any concerns within facilities or grounds and status of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
5. Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner, making arrangements for repair as soon as possible.
6. Maintain a flexible schedule and work cooperatively to assist with special projects, deep cleaning, general maintenance tasks and other responsibilities designated by the supervisor.
7. Determine the extent of safety concerns when identified and decide on appropriate action. Know and follow the safety guidelines related to working with chemicals and equipment and complying with safety regulations and codes.
8. Maintain an organized and safe work area related to storage of chemicals, paper products, tools and other housekeeping and maintenance supplies and disposal of bio-hazardous materials.
9. Utilize Listen First techniques to better understand programming needs and concerns, resolve conflicts, and coordinate the gymnastics program, modeling use of these skills to other staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school degree or equivalent.
2. At least 18 years of age.
3. 3 years or more of related experience preferred.
4. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
5. Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
6. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
7. Strong general maintenance knowledge with the ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment and perform basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repair work.
8. Self-starter and ability to work in team oriented environment.
9. Certified Pool Operator Certification required; training timeline to be determined.
10. Complete New Employee Orientation within 30 days of your hire date.
11. Obtain a current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers with First Aid Certificate.
a. This certificate is valid for two years and it is your responsibility to keep it up to date.
12. Complete Child Abuse Prevention Training within 30 days of your hire date.
a. This training is required annually throughout your employment.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
