The Business Advocacy Coordinator for the Business Advocacy Department contributes to Chamber goals of membership engagement, policy advocacy, revenue development, and relationship growth by providing efficient, accurate, and timely administrative and logistical support to the Business Advocacy Department, including scheduling, coordinating meeting arrangements, maintaining data bases, supporting policy research efforts, and preparing correspondence.
Requirements
- Coordinate Council and Committee Meetings: Work with Business Advocacy leadership to secure content/speakers a month in advance, send out meeting notices/agendas one week in advance
- Support consistent and timely engagement with Policy Council members, BAC Board Members, Indy Chamber Board, and Executive Committee on Business Advocacy efforts.
- Support Business Advocacy schedule management, meeting coordination, engagement with partner and volunteer leaders.
- Support document management related to policy development, policy executive, political activities, and strategic initiatives.
- Work with Indy Chamber Events Team to organize Business Advocacy events.
- Assist with onboarding new BA team members/interns.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma, prefer an associate in secretarial science, business administration, political science, or journalism.1-2 years administrator experience preferred. Background on policy, political science, public administration a plus.
