Business Manager

Overview:The Literacy Council of Alaska is looking for a Business Director to handle the various financial aspects of running a nonprofit. Our ideal candidate is an experienced bookkeeper looking to work for a purpose driven organization. This position will have the opportunity to make process improvements, work as part of a team, and contribute to the mission of literacy for all.

This candidate would work in conjunction with our accounting firm to complete the following:

Responsibilities:

● Process accounts payable and receivable● Prepare payroll and other personnel related duties● Asset tracking and labeling● Assisting in audits and reviews● Bookkeeping duties, including general ledger● Prep of 990 and related schedules

Job Skills & Qualifications:

● Associate’s degree in accounting or bookkeeping experience● Working knowledge of QuickBooks● Proficient in MS office, specially excel● Must be able to pass a background check● Able to communicate finances effectively with the team● Detail oriented● Flexible

Preferred Qualifications:

● Has worked or volunteered with LCA for 6+ months ● Experience in grant management and/or grant writing● Experience with nonprofit bookkeeping

Supervised by the Executive Director

Starting Salary: $19 - $22 per/hr, part time with potential to move to full time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
