Job Title: Business Unit Controller Department: Accounting & Finance

Location: Apollo Beach, FL - Remote work with weekly site visits possible.
Travel: Little to no Travel Required
Job Summary:
The Business Unit Controller will manage the accounting function for Lifesavings Systems, LLC, the latest addition to Signia Aerospace’s Mission Systems division. Headquartered in Apollo Beach, FL, Lifesavings Systems Corporation has a 40-year track record as a global leader in the development and manufacture of extreme environment rescue, safety, and survival equipment. Signia Aerospace is a global, integrated provider of highly technical systems and components for the aerospace industry.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Finance and Logistics Administrator
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions;
- Oversee the monthly closing process;
- Oversee the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation process;
- Work with the Division CFO to prepare a timely 13-week cash forecast;
- Assist with developing, improving and implementing financial reporting processes;
- Oversee the monthly capitalization of fixed asset process;
- Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards;
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit;
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements;
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5 years relevant experience
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new technologies
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
