The Tyndale Company, recently named a Top Workplace in the Greater Houston area, is adding a new Buyer to our Supply department. This Buyer will perform essential purchasing functions working closely with our Category Managers, Supply Clerks and Supply Manager to ensure efficient procurement of goods and services. The ideal candidate should have the ability to provide back-up support to the Category Managers and interested in learning all they can to assist Tyndale's growth.

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This Buyer will work 2 days a week onsite, and 3 days a week remote. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County) for onsite work.

Responsibilities:

• Place PO’s daily via MRP system as well as stock or manual orders
• Analyze previous day items ordered to identify requirements for manual PO placement out of the normal vendor order schedule
• Procure goods to support Manufacturing as well as Company- wide non inventoried goods through purchase requisitions
• Process invoice discrepancies
• Process RTV’s as applicable
• Process Special cuts
• Process manual Needs by/rush requests
• Request samples
• RFP’s/ Integrify price requests/Quotes upon request
• Sourcing assistance upon direction from Category Manager
• Update information on vendor pages as appropriate
• Provide vendor availability/lead times upon request
• Initiate discontinued items Work Orders
• Review/Maintain Discontinued item list
• Identify and maintain items with severe backorders
• Abbreviated vendor scorecards
• Answer miscellaneous product questions/Marketing requests
• Answer customer service inquiries
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required;
• Minimum 1 year prior Purchasing experience;
• Proficiency using MS Word, Outlook and Excel at an intermediate level;
• Ability to demonstrate prioritization and time management skills;
• Strong problem solving skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
