JOB SUMMARY:
Hyrdasearch is looking for a CAD Designer to join its manufacturing team in Stevensville, MD. This position supports the Engineering and Manufacturing functions of our company by providing clear, accurate models and drawings of parts and assemblies. Utilizing SolidWorks software, the Draftsperson transforms initial rough designs into 3D models and 2D drawings. With guidance and support from senior staff, the Draftsperson uses their knowledge of drafting techniques, internal instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create or revise Engineering drawings using SolidWorks and Hydrasearch Drafting Standards.
• Work with Production and Engineering personnel to revise drawings to reflect product and manufacturing improvements.
• Assist Engineering in performing part inspections of both raw materials and machined product.

COMPETENCIES:

• Experience with SolidWorks or a similar CAD program
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of basic math including geometry, trigonometry and algebra
• Ability to look at two dimensional drawing and be able to visualize the three dimensional object it represents
• Working knowledge of inspection equipment from steel rules, radius gages, micrometers, calibers, spring calipers, height gages, and will be expected to use these as well as learning to operate CMM type inspection equipment.
