Gear up your camper for a week or more of outdoor adventures at our day camp located in Anchorage on the campus of Alaska Pacific University. We take full advantage of this natural setting, making every day another opportunity for campers to explore the forest, practice target sports, or launch a canoe from the waterfront. In addition to a huge catalog of activities and games, we structure each session to create a classic, outdoor summer camp experience!
Position Summary: The Camp Si-La-Meo (SLM) Unit Leader adhere to Camp Fire Alaska’s (CFAK) promise to provide youth with the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice and discover who they are through positive and responsible youth interactions within the day camp environment. The Camp SLM Unit Leader provide oversight of maintaining and monitoring camper registration, youth attendance, youth files, completing all relevant paperwork and printing in a timely manner, meeting weekly with the Camp Fire AK Family Services Manager, and communicating with parents.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with youth, preferably in a day/resident camp setting.
- Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider (preferred) or
availability to attend a certification course at the Camp Fire AK local office prior to listed position start date.
- Eighteen (18) years of age required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting entities.
- Experience working with diverse populations: multi-cultural, age, gender, etc.
- Valid Driver’s License and eligibility to drive agency vehicles.
- Experience working with registration programs preferred.
