Position Summary: The Food Packaging Associate packages finished edible cannabis products including chocolate bars, drops, and other consumable items, with the proper packaging and labeling, to be distributed retail sale. This person is responsible for ensuring quality and uniformity and for maintaining a safe and sanitary work area. This is a full time 40 hours a week position.

Essential Functions:

• Packages finished edible products including chocolate bars, drops, and other consumable items, in the appropriate packaging for retail sale.
• Performs quality control to ensure uniformity and that products are properly tempered or coated to eliminate issues such as improper texture or incorrect moisture content
• Ensures all machinery is kept clean and in working order; escalates issues to department management as needed
• Sorts and catalogues waste in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work area, following all mandatory food safety standards, including wearing appropriate PPE
• Maintains a safe work environment by following all mandatory safety procedures and identifying and reporting hazards
• Maintains speed and efficiency and actively contributes to continuous process improvements
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience working in food service or food handling preferred
• Experience in a production environment preferred
• Must have professional communication at all times
• Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations

Physical Requirements:

• Extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs, including hot and cold items
• Continuous bending and lifting
• Ability to push and pull
• Manual dexterity needed for manipulating food items and tools
• Visual acuity needed to accurately read small screens and labels
