Have a direct impact

The CareerStep course design department at Carrus is seeking a creative Instructional Design Contractor who will be participating in the organization and standardization of the look and feel of our eLearning content. This person will bring engaging courses to life visually for individuals looking to grow their career in the healthcare industry.

The right candidate will have experience in adult learning, specifically working within the Canvas LMS.

A day in the life

75% Instructional Design

• Organize and standardize the look and feel of existing and new content
• Create interactive learning activities through video, gamification, and other interactive visuals to enhance text-based instruction

25% Quality Assurance

• Ongoing Canvas Admin duties such as course creation, Sub Account organization, etc.
• Ongoing evaluation of existing content
• Participate in course quality reviews to determine areas of quality and areas for improvement

EXPERIENCE

• BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, instructional design et
• 2+ years developing online learning content within Canvas LMS
• Exposure to adult learning theory principles and practices
• Working knowledge of micro-credentialing and gamification
• ExperienceAligning course objectives to curriculum items and certification exams.

Developing interactive learning objects (H5P, Softchalk, LTI)
Developing meaningful assessment to demonstrate learner understanding learning mastery of the curriculum

Experience Skills

• Strong project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and working with stakeholders.
• Canvas LMS expertise in both administrator and course development roles

Competency

• Strong written and oral communication: You will be writing copy for college-level and should enjoy doing so.
• Independent Worker: We show you the destination and you figure out how to get there.
• Organization and Attention to Detail: One error will be seen by 5000 learners so you just dont make them.
