Launched with the guidance of tech industry leaders, this program will help close the preparation gap for students of color through knowledge, training, and experience. The SEO Tech Developer Career Development Advisor (CDA) will assume oversight of Tech Developer participants' professional development by guiding and delivering the coaching and mentorship curriculum to inculcate the technical and soft skills required for entry-level tech roles at leading tech companies and startups — with an emphasis on the application of programming tools in addressing real-world problems.

The CDA will work directly with students to help them envision and realize their career goals through customized development plans and partner with Instructors and Teaching Assistants to effectively guide and prepare the cohort to reach key milestones throughout the programmatic calendar with the ultimate goal of landing a competitive internship in tech.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to provide insight into the talent pipeline, assist with resume reviews, prepare students for the technical and behavioral interview process, and help students decide which tech role best matches their interests.
  • Assist a cohort of students with career development by helping them meet an "interview readiness" standard, create an impactful resume, and introduce them to tech roles and SEO partner companies, and external internship opportunities.
  • Assist student cohorts (who have met minimum standards for interview readiness and selected target interest areas) with career development by discussing prospective career paths with the tech industry and evaluating interview performance.
  • Partnership with SEO Career
    • Work to align talented, diverse pre-professionals with opportunities at partner companies by engaging them in SEO Career's partner access process and curriculum.
    • Coordinate with Partnership teams to incorporate development feedback to high-potential candidates.
    • Provide coaching and guidance throughout the internship and position students to receive a full-time offer
  • Training and Development (20%)
    • Work with SEO Career FCT Track Manager to provide inputs necessary for creating relevant curricula, course content, and materials to the Assistant Director of Training & Development.
    • Collaborate with Industry Specialists, Instructors, and Teaching Assistants for the track to deliver coaching and guidance.
  • Data and Reporting (10%)
    • Track interactions with participants in relevant applications to collect data to measure progress toward engagement, conversation, and offer rate goals set by SEO Tech Developer leadership.
    • Create student feedback loops via surveys or other means to accurately gauge the student experience and student satisfaction throughout the entire lifecycle.
