Job Summary:
This position is responsible for attending to the personal needs of children and/or adults with disabilities and their siblings while providing quality in-home care.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Attends to the physical needs of the client by performing tasks that may include bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding or meal preparation.
- Ensures the proper use of adapted equipment including but not limited to wheelchairs, braces, crutches, communication devices, hearing aids, seating or positioning equipment.
- Provides for the safety and constant supervision of the clients and siblings in their care.
- Provides feedback to the parents/care providers regarding the respite visit.
- Follows guidelines and directions established by the client’s parent/care provider while in the client’s home.
- Always adheres to client and program confidentiality.
- Always adheres to the code of safe practices for his/her employment area.
- Maintains infant, child and adult CPR & first aid.
- Submits timecards on the first and sixteenth of each month.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must enjoy working with disabled children and adults.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Pass a physical including a back evaluation demonstrating the ability to lift 35 lbs. safely.
- Have and maintain current auto insurance and driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to travel to client’s home(s) using reliable transportation.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Maintain a weekly schedule of no less than 35.00 hours and will not exceed 40.00 hours.
- Pay Rate $16.00 per hour + Mileage
