JOB TITLE: Cashier

DEPARTMENT: Room Service

REPORTS TO: Manager / Captain

THIS POSITION IS FOR SWING & GRAVE SHIFTS

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Cashier is to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction at all times as well as cash drawer accuracy, attend all guests in a prompt, friendly and efficient manner. All duties are performed in accordance with the departmental and Ark Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Greet and treat guests in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner.

· Ensure that the performance guidelines (as outlined in the Employee Handbook) are adhered to at all the times.

· Ask for HELP when you need it.

· Maintain knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and prices.

· Clean and maintain designated area during shift.

· Supply guests with information on services available at New York- New York and at other Ark locations. Assist the guest in any way possible, within reason.

· Perform accurate cash transactions

· Ensure the proper use of the Info genesis System.

· Remain polite and always poised when dealing with guests

· Handle initial guest complaints. Inform to the manager to duty immediately.

· Assure smooth transition during shift changes. Remain on duty until relief is present and acknowledges that they are ready to take over.

· Perform other job-related duties as requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure and effectively deal with guests, management, and employees in all situations.

NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English in person and over the telephone with management, employees, and guests.

· Possess the ability to perform basic math skills.

· Maintain skill in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with fellow employees.

· Be a team-oriented individual who enjoys working with and serving customers.

· Perception and awareness of customer needs and ability to resolve related problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Preferred experience in high-volume full-service restaurant.

· Experience in dealing with customers.

· High school education or equivalent.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

· Employment eligibility for the United States

· Clark County Health Card
