The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa is looking to hire a Catering and Sales Manager to assist our Sales Team!

Summary

Catering Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting and securing group/catering-related opportunities. Facilitates group/catering opportunities. Actively upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Responsible for building customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Provide service to our customers in order to grow share of the account on behalf of PCH, across the enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Executes and supports PCH Standards, hotel’s Brand Standards and the operational aspects of business booked.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hotel service team in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Negotiates services of hotel and executes PCH’s Group Sales Agreement for each business opportunity.
  • Acts as customer liaison with hotel during customer event/program ensuring daily needs are met and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
  • Proactively identifies, qualifies and solicits new group/catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
  • Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
  • Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Utilizes Marriott Global Source for resources and information (Training Energizers, etc.).
  • Leverages available eTools (eRooming Lists, eProposals, Passkey, etc.).
  • Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and control hotel occupancy.
  • Conducts site inspections.
  • Creates contracts as required.
  • Referrals potential clients to other PCH properties.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively responds guest problems and complaints.
  • Reviews meeting planner results to understand level of guest satisfaction; continuously strives to improve service performance.
