JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and procedures as required, with particular concentration to the interventional procedures function, as this requires knowledge of this specialty area relative to equipment, positioning, and some nursing procedures. Is responsible for patient safety and adheres to established protocols for interventional examinations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a certificate or degree course of study in radiologic technology and current ARRT certification.

Experience: Theoretical instruction combined with clinical experience. Satisfactory references from previous employer or school of x-ray. Experience in special procedures preferred specifically angiography.

Must have at least 2 years of experience.
