Job Location: Hurlburt Field, FL. (Chapel)

Salary: Service $ 66.96(each), Rehearsal(each) $ 56.96 plus H & W and 401K.

Days/Hours of work: Rehearsals and 2 Sunday Services, plus Holy Days of Obligation and Special Services.

Responsibilities: Provide music for weekly Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation and/or Special Services, as well as weekly rehearsal. Weekly rehearsal(s) should be a minimum of one hour in length.

Arrive at least fifteen minutes before rehearsal and thirty minutes before Mass and remain afterwards to return all equipment to its original place. Attend liturgy and music planning meetings, as needed, and work with the other Mass Choir Directors and Musicians. The Catholic Musician shall notify their service Chaplain of needed maintenance and/or repairs.

The Catholic Musician shall arrange music, rehearse, direct and lead the music portion of worship services.

The Catholic Musician will plan and coordinate all musical selections with the Priest or designated representative to select music in keeping with the theme of worship service no later than 7 days prior to the Mass, Holiday Day of Obligation or Special Service

The Catholic Musician will recruit, train and rehearse with members of the Choir and/or band members.

The Catholic Musician will receive training and become proficient with Chapel sound boards/systems within 30 days of start day by staff.

The Catholic Musician will work with the Community Coordinator to complete Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund (CTOF) and Appropriated Funds (APF) documents and submit them to the appropriate person. Ensure that they are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Have practical experience (two or more years preferred) in a liturgical church or chapel setting. Must be proficient at playing an instrument (piano/organ preferred), must be able to read music and have vocal abilities.

Be familiar with a wide range of Catholic music, such as hymns in the Hymnal for Worship and Celebration or selections of licensed music. Shall ensure all worship music and media used follows copyright, reproduction and license agreements/laws are always abided with

Shall maintain ethical standards and maintain absolute privacy and confidentiality for any issues either seen or heard. Shall present a clean, neat, and professional appearance. Must have a strong commitment to work in a pluralistic religious environment and work well with other faith traditions, honoring the dignity and value of other faith traditions.

Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $125.00 - $126.96 per week
