JOB SUMMARY:

The CCS Youth Support Specialist provides skill building and support to youth referred to the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Program. This position supports and assists youth in the follow through and success of their individualized goals. Services can include individual and group sessions, structured recreational activities that build social skills, crisis intervention, school support and parent contact.

Our program also provides services to youth who have been re-unified with their family after being placed in an out-of-home setting. Staff work closely with identified families and address a wide range of concerns including: safety, parenting, coaching strategies to effectively parent and deescalate aggressive, out of control behaviors. Youth Support Specialists may provide support and assistance with household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, community referral, education, employment, medical, mental health and substance abuse issues.

SALARY: $18.00 per hour

LOCATION & HOURS: Office is based in Appleton. Hybrid model of time spent out in the community meeting in-person with clients and at the office, with some flexibility to work remote. Part-time weekend hours, with availability to pick up additional hours during the week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyze youth capabilities, strengths and problems to determine the services required to meet the unique needs of youth.
• Implement youth goals in collaboration with team members, youth and their families.
• Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for youth in school, the community and during emergency and crisis situations.
• Attend youth/family team meetings.
• Organize and facilitate individual meetings and structured recreational activities that assist youth in developing pro-social skills and connections.
• Safely transport clients as needed.
• After training is complete, staff are added to on-call duties to monitor after-hours calls.

• Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field.
