CDL Bus Driver - Fredonia, NY Job at The Cedar Bus Co.
Transport clients including medical, elderly, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Provides Safe, Prompt, and Courteous transportation.
- Completes daily paperwork accurately.
- Communicates with dispatch team members
- Transports clients in wheelchairs in company vehicle.
- Load clients on and off company vehicle using the proper techniques.
- Secures wheelchair in company vehicle using the proper techniques.
- Moves client in wheelchair from vehicle to proper destination within the facility.
- Operates company vehicle in a safe manner obeying all traffic laws.
- Takes attendance daily for fixed route assignments
- Completes required pre and post trip vehicle inspections properly
- Cleans the vehicle at the end of every shift
- Understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Effectively communicate verbally with coworkers and others
- Interact with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors
- Recognize and respond to changing priorities

*Skills & Abilities*
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Push and pull a minimum of 250 lbs.
- Bend and squat while negotiating the small confines of vehicle while attaching and detaching securement system.
- Enter exit buildings while controlling a wheelchair.
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to take clients up-down stairs in a wheelchair when necessary
- Able to climb stairs to enter and exit a vehicle
- Ability to enter and exit buildings while controlling a wheelchair
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Navigate with GPS and understand how to read and follow a map
- Basic math skills
- Required to work both inside and outside.
- Be able to perform in all types of weather conditions including snow, rain, sun and darkness.

*Qualifications*
- Must have a clean Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Must pass DOT medical exam and drug test.
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6-mos-1 year CDL driving experience
