The Renaissance Therapy Group, LLC is hiring a Certified Medical Translator (English to Spanish). Part time schedule. Hispanic Outreach Liaison for the Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program (TBCSP). Primarily Remote-but will need to attend Outreach Events as scheduled.
The Tennessee Department of Health’s Division of Family Health and Wellness is hiring a Hispanic Outreach Liaison for the Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program (TBCSP). This position will work as a part of a statewide team and act as an outreach coordinator and liaison between TBCSP and the Hispanic/Latinx community. This position will conduct community outreach activities that deepen relationships with Hispanic/Latinx communities, increase breast and cervical cancer screenings and promote health equity for disparate populations. This is a part-time position located in Tennessee. Work will be remote and some in-state travel will be required.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate cultural competency and understanding of working with Hispanic and Latinx communities
- Build relationships and trust with community leaders, nonprofits, government officials, and business owners located in and serving the Hispanic and Latinx communities
· Perform evidence-based outreach and engagement activities with a special focus on disproportionately burdened populations
- Develop best practices model for navigation of Hispanic/Latinx patients from outreach through service delivery
- Conduct educational and training events
- Assist English language only TBCSP navigators and coordinators with appropriate outreach and education
- Assist in the development of videos, commercials, and presentations to be used by Regional Coordinators, Metro Navigators and central office staff for education and awareness in the Hispanic/Latinx community
- Work to elevate TBCSP awareness and presence in Hispanic and Latinx communities through events, partnerships, and outreach activities
· Facilitating internal and external quality assurance efforts and using the information for continuous improvement
· Participating in pertinent coalition and workgroup meetings such as the Tennessee Cancer Coalition (TC2)
· Assisting with Presumptive Eligibility (PE) TennCare enrollment or coordinate referrals to appropriate sites
· Maintaining up to date knowledge of TBCSP policies, and serving as a resource for providers regarding TBCS program
The preferred candidate will have:
· Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and certified medical interpreter (English to Spanish)
· Appreciation and understanding of unique needs of Hispanic/Latinx community
· Fluency in both Spanish and English, both written and verbal communication to include certification/experience in translating medical terminology
· Experience with conducting trainings
· Passion working with women and those disproportionately burdened by breast and/or cervical cancer
