Chief Operating Officer Position
Kirstin's Haven, Inc and Kirstin Care, LLC was established to help veterans, homeless and poor
individuals and families in DC Metro area. Our more than 6 programs in the Metro area provide
comprehensive services from mental and physical health, psychiatric rehabilitation program,
Outpatient Mental Health Program, Outpatient Patient, Intensive Outpatient Patient, supportive
employment, and affordable housing. We meet immediate needs with and offer the tools one needs
to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence.
We are currently seeking a full-time Chief Operating Officer for our organization.
Position Description: The COO is responsible for day-to-day management and administration for
Program staf f is responsible for overseeing and conducting the full range of activities required to prepare and carry out all existing programs. The COO must be knowledgeable about Veterans services,
Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, PRP, and be able to develop and monitor the appropriate use to key linkages for veterans and their families that overcome barriers to access and address intake, assessment, service planning, service delivery and goal achievement for attainment or maintenance of permanent housing. Provide leadership for the team, especially training, supervision, problem-solving for dif f icult cases and case review.
Qualifications:
Required: master's degree and 5 years' experience in operating an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, PRP
Program, Substance Use, Rapid -rehousing and Supportive Employment Program.
Preferred: MSW, MA, Program development, and supervisory experience
Required License/Certification: MSW/MA-LCSW-C, LCPC-S, LCPC, LSCW
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Salary: Negotiable-based on experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Conducting intake assessment, obtaining authorizations various services, permanent/ supportive housing, collaborating with each client's treatment team periodically, and outside organizations. management
- Ability to assess and manage risk factors af fecting projects and the organization.
- Strong understanding of the successful design of housing development activities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Prof icient with MS Off ice, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong administrative and supervisory skills
- Project Management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams.
- Knowledge of property management sof tware
Expected Contributions:
Manage department as needed. Identify properties for potential acquisition and negotiate contracts for properties to be acquired. Coordinate development budgets and proforma statements. Perform due diligence required by funding entities. Oversee project timelines and budget maintenance. Collaborate with Management to develop standards. Forecast and track cash f low for projects.
Strategic leadership: Participate in the overall strategy and decision-making of the organization in conjunction with members of the administrative team. Oversee and provide clear direction and leadership for all programs and departments under the portfolio . Ensure compliance with standards and expectations for programs and departments.
Supervisory: Ensure appropriate department staf f ing levels in order to meet objectives; Assess, evaluate, and hire new employees as needed. Contribute to budget development and use sound judgment to leverage resources in accomplishing department goals. Contribute to strategy development and strive to improve department functions and performance; Assist in the development of standards and goals as appropriate; Ensure that teams develop goals and monitor progress regularly.
Reports To: CEO and KHI Program Director
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lif t to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods. Requires the ability to sit, stand, climb, and walk for various periods of time. Requires ability to reach with hands and arms and use of hands and f ingers to handle objects and operate tools, computers, and/or controls.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
