Head Start is seeking a creative, organized individual to join our teaching team in meeting the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional needs of toddlers enrolled in the Head Start center-based program. As a classroom teacher you will:
Head Start is seeking a creative, organized individual to join our teaching team in meeting the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional needs of toddlers enrolled in the Head Start center-based program. As a classroom teacher you will:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement daily lesson plans, classroom activities, and outreach events
- Guide children as they learn new skills including feeding, toileting, and self-care
- Foster a welcoming and safe learning environment that promotes safe exploration for children and encourages parents to be active participants in their child’s education
- Assist in supervision of classroom teaching staff, volunteers, and support management in ensuring compliance with day care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards.
This is a UPK position and has school breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field; one year of experience in an early childhood program; Teacher certification (for UPK program teachers only); valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
