The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Client Support Worker 3 (House Manager) at a Community Home located in Dekalb County, Ga.

Job Grade: D

Salary Range - $ 29,430 - $34,580.25 based on experience

Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm 1

Job Description:

Under direct supervision of the Team Lead, the CSW-3 (house manager) acts as the lead CSW at a male residential facility. With the Team Lead, the House Manager ensures that the home is adequately staffed across all shifts, that the residents keep all appointments, and assists the CSWs as needed in the observation and monitoring of resident’s behavior and the charting of observations and incidents. Provides training on basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills. May assist with meal preparation, ensuring or encouraging resident group activity, providing transportation, and/or limited case management. House Manager is also in charge of ensuring operational protocols are followed (such as fire/emergency drills, proper storage of collected specimens, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Instructs and advises residents on daily living skills in one-on-one or group instruction
  • Observes and monitors client behavior. May provide corrective feedback to clients on behavioral problems, daily decision-making, and the resolution of minor problems
  • Participates in case reviews, consulting with the team to evaluate the client's needs and plan for continuing services
  • Ensures that housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, washing clothes and dishes, and running errands are completed by residents and staff. Will personally complete such duties as needed
  • Supervises the planning and safe preparation of meals, including special diets, and assists residents in planning, shopping for, and preparing nutritious meals. Will help cook meals, if needed
  • Ensures that records of client progress and services performed, are properly prepared and maintained by staff
  • Drives state owned vehicles to provide transportation for clients/residents to appointments and activities
  • Assists in presentation of educational group lectures related to appropriate topics
  • Assists the Team Lead in ensuring that the home is in keeping with Joint Commission standards.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to observe and monitor residents' behavior
  • Ability to assist and supervise residents with daily living activities
  • Ability to provide training and/or orientation services to participants
  • Ability to participate in supportive guidance, program planning meetings, resident staffing and service training
  • Ability to ensure CSWs are adequately fulfilling their duties (i.e. reporting to work as scheduled, are up to date with their training, etc.).

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR Two years of experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human services setting OR One year of experience at the lower level Client Support Worker 2 (SSS011) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
