The Clinical Development Leader (CDL) is responsible for identifying and winning new business opportunities in alignment with the Genomic Medicines Therapeutics Strategy. The individual will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional resources (e.g. Operations, Quality, Service, Legal) to advance the sales process and close new cGMP business as customers advance from research into clinical trials and later stage development/commercialization of Gene and Cell therapies. This individual will be a partner to the Regional Sales leadership and work closely with other commercial teams focused on the life science research market. Experience with and knowledge of regulated, contract manufacture in support of therapeutics and/or molecular diagnostic fields is required for success in the role.

Essential Duties

  • Fosters relationships with Pharma’s and Biotech’s to navigate all functions and levels to achieve
  • Seek out new business opportunities that advance the Genomics Medicine strategy and leverages the market position of IDT’s CRISPR franchise
  • Build account plans/playbooks for the assigned organization while penetrating all divisions of the organization with the broadest possible range of IDT products and solutions
  • Qualify projects and programs to build pipeline of most profitable programs for IDT’s Therapeutics Manufacturing facility
  • Write detailed business proposals meeting client requirements and expectations with support from internal IDT stakeholders including, but not limited to Manufacturing & Quality teams
  • Develop Return-On-Investment (ROI) model for each opportunity to help drive organizational prioritization for support and operational purposes
  • Negotiate ensuring soliciting internal input and gaining well balanced terms with customers that result in planful growth and achievement of key metrics
  • Partner with Legal to draft and execute necessary legal agreements
  • Coordinate support functions to deliver required inputs for customers as they advance through the sales process and through execution post-win
  • Meet with prospective clients or select strategic partnerships to lead initial qualifying project/program discussions with relevant stakeholders
  • Provide feedback from prospects, clients, and partners for the purposes of process and client experience enhancement

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in scientific discipline
  • MBA and/or advanced degree, with 5 years of Sales/Business experience
  • Minimum 7 years sales/business experience with proven record of achieving portfolio growth and leadership development
  • Extensive utilization of CRM
  • Previous experience in Strategic Commercial roles
  • Experience in the Diagnostics or Contract research/manufacturing desirable preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally and concisely present commercial, scientific, technical information and proven track record of success managing complex multi discipline sales scenario
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Gene and Cell therapy products and services
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic, tactical, and operational plans
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
  • Strategic, critical but creative thinker, strong business sense and excellent financial skills
  • Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting skills
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or situation in which working speed and sustained attention are make-or-break aspects of the job.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.

The salary range for this role is $120,000-160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
