What you will need:

• Position requires a Doctorate of Pharmacy or Bachelor's Degree with related clinical pharmacy experience.
• Maryland Board of Pharmacy Licensure
• Position requires 5-7 years as a Clinical Pharmacist experience. Pharmacy practice residency and board certification preferred.
• Employees must have received single dose of 1-dose Covid vaccine or both doses of a 2-dose Covid vaccine series or obtain an approved medical or religious wavier.

What you will do:

• Coordinates clinical and pharmacy operational activities for the pharmacy department to ensure safe medication management across the continuum of care.
• Performs all duties and functions of a staff pharmacist including preparation of IV admixtures and compounded sterile products, reviews and dispenses medication orders per departmental policies and procedures, and supervises technical and professional employees.
• Oversees the provision and coordination of clinical pharmacy services including providing support and guidance in addressing complex clinical scenarios, allotting resources as needed to resolve them seven days a week, 24 hours a day. This will include maintaining appropriate staffing levels for these clinical pharmacy services.
• Develops and monitors clinical programs and staff development as well as formulary management, drug therapy monitoring, and best practices in medication use.
• Oversees and ensures the following activities: staff development, formulary management, drug information, medication use evaluation, medication safety initiatives, joint commission readiness, adverse drug event reporting, protocols and quality improvement data collection at the facility, and coordination of drug therapy guidelines. Develops and coordinates preceptor program for pharmacy intern and clerkship students.
• Documents and investigates reported hospital-related adverse drug reactions (ADR) and medication errors and presents a monthly and quarterly report to appropriate committee(s). Provides drug information via a drug information newsletter (bulletin) as needed.
• Assists the director with special projects related to the department and providing operational leadership to pharmacy staff.
