Salary Range: $62,000 - $68,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is searching for a Clinical Research Coordinator to work on a leading researcher’s study concerning the impact of a culturally based live music intervention on the metabolites and metabolic pathways associated with chronic stress and the risk of preterm birth in Black women.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Developing educational materials (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures, consent forms, Qualtrics/REDCap surveys, etc), convening meetings, and keeping the project moving on a day-to-day basis.

Overseeing and assisting the PIs with the development of fliers, including making copies of, and collating instruments and questionnaires, and assembling packets for use in the research study.

Assisting with administrative tasks including IRB submission/revisions, and addition of new staff, students, or postdocs to the IRB-approved protocol.

Assisting with tasks related to subject compensation and reimbursement, including for travel to and from the Louis Armstrong Center for their intervention or control sessions.

Coordinating with study staff at all study sites (Columbia NYP/Columbia Prenatal Clinic, The Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine, and the Emory Metabolomic Center) as needed to conduct the study.

Assisting with data collection, data entry into RedCap or Qualtrics, and initial steps in data cleaning.

Assisting the PIs in the development and monitoring of the study database including tracking research participants’ enrollment, assignment to intervention or control groups, study participation and adherence.

Supporting the biostatisticians in their statistical analysis of research data.

Assisting with shipping and tracking of samples sent to Co-I Jones’ lab in Atlanta for metabolomic analyses.

Supporting with manuscript preparation and submission and manuscript formatting using EndNote.

Assisting in organizing study-related events, including setting up meetings and new staff orientations.

Assisting with database design, security, data storage and management.

Providing support as needed to other staff involved in screening, and enrollment/retention-related trainings and other activities.

Providing support for information tracking & data entry using Excel.

Communicating with and arranging meetings with external collaborators including the External Advisory Board.

Formatting documents and assisting with PowerPoint presentations.

Performing other duties as assigned/requested.

This is a grant-funded position and employment is contingent upon continued funding.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of related experience or equivalent in education, training, and experience.

Computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with R program.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Familiarity with Institutional Review Board procedures.

Knowledgeable of Clinical Trials regulatory processes.

Working knowledge of REDCap, Qualtrics and EndNote.
