Job Summary:

New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) is a non-profit community development and social service agency which provides a range of services to more than 4,000 children and families each day. We have been preliminarily selected by the NJ Department of Children and Families to operate a new program designed to provide prevention programming and direct services to help address student mental health issues throughout Passaic County, and we are currently looking for staff to join this exciting new initiative.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated licensed social work or counseling clinician to provide clinical services to students. The ideal candidate will have experience providing screening, brief interventions, facilitating treatment referrals, school consultation, and making necessary referrals to community supports as needed/identified. The clinician will work a combination of before, during, and after-school hours.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical services both in-person and through telehealth to students
• Screen, assess, and provide brief interventions to youth and families
• Facilitate treatment referrals and make necessary referrals to community supports as needed/identified
• Work collaboratively with school personnel and community partners to provide comprehensive services to students
• Provide school consultation services to staff and families as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and documentation
• Attend regular clinical supervision meetings and professional development training
• Provide training and supervision to other clinicians who do not possess independent licensure
• Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and family information
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Licensed as one of the following: Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC); Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
• Preference for professionals with relevant independent licensure
• Experience completing assessments and providing brief individualized clinical interventions to youth and families is required
• Previous training in Motivational Interviewing is preferred
• Those who are not trained in Motivational Interviewing must be trained within sixty (60) days of hire or assignment to the Hub
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license, safe driving record, and vehicle availability are required
• Must pass NJ Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) screening, and a fingerprint-based background check

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The Licensed Clinician may also be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

The Licensed Clinician will primarily work in an office environment and schools and community settings. They may be required to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of stakeholders.
