ChildNet Youth & Family Services, Inc. is currently seeking Behavioral Health Therapists/Clinicians for our Behavioral Health Services (BHS) division in Long Beach, CA.
Behavioral Health Services (BHS) provides mental health services to children from infancy to young adulthood. Services are provided on-site and within the community at schools, resource homes, parental homes, child care centers, etc.
The BHS Clinician/Therapist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide comprehensive therapy services including assessment (including risk assessment), treatment planning, and clinical interventions to an assigned caseload, which is comprised of a diverse set of clients aged 0-21; average caseload is 16 clients. Weekly support provided through individual and group supervision.
- In addition to individual assessment and therapy services, provide family therapy, collateral, rehab, and case management sessions to provide comprehensive services.
- Collaborate with biological parents, resource parents, psychiatrists, CSWs, FFA social workers, teachers, etc. for a team approach to treatment.
- Maintain documentation in the clinical record that is ethical, timely and meets established Company/DMH requirements.
- Provide sessions in a combination of in-person in the home/community, school, and office, as well as virtually.
- Provide crisis intervention and prioritize the needs, health, and safety of all clients.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
The Clinician/Therapist (AMFT/MFT) must possess:
- Master’s degree in a mental health related field of study.
- Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW); OR Licensed in the State of California as a LMFT or LCSW, or possess a waived license (LMFT/LCSW).
- Ability to complete extensive DMH paperwork (Training provided).
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to embrace diversity and to approach treatment with an inclusion and equity lens.
- Ability to handle crisis situations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.
